Carriage Mounted Spreader Bar
Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - As the name implies, this mast has 3 sections. The outside part mounts firmly to the lift truck. The next intermediate part telescopes inside of the external section. The inmost section telescopes within the middle part. The inner section and the intermediate part both raise while the lift cylinders extend. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides in the internal section. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas such as doorways where overhead clearances are restricted. This mast is normally outfitted with a center cylinder in order to let the fork carriage elevate some distance before the mast parts commence lengthening.
The 2 Stage Mast consists of two parts. The inner part telescopes within the outer and elevates when the lift cylinders lengthen. The outer part of this mast model is mounted to the lift truck. The fork carriage is actually positioned within the internal section. This particular mast type has a taller lowered height as opposed to an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
